ITALY - what is the connection with Oporto?

Well probably there are many connections to Italy but this one is the one i know. It has to do with this gentleman.

Charles Albert of Sardinia

Well he was exiled and come to Oporto where he would die.

We lived is last day in the " Quinta Da Macieirinha" that in our days is know by "Solar of Vinho do Porto"

The reference to get here are the gardens of the Crystal Palace. You have a entrance trough the gardens . Just look for the indication of the gardens of romantic - Jardins do romântico. The outher entrance is on a street on the left side of the grounds of the Crystal Palace. you can walk there from the Boavista Rounabout and from the Baixa.

Inside you have amazing views.

On the way out go to the gardens and go back to the crystal palace gardens where at the end of the large three avenue you will find the chapel with the letters C.A. Charles Albert that was offered by his sister upon his death.
