A graveyard movie worthy

Ok you come to Oporto to enjoy life . A graveyard would be the last place to go on a holiday!! What the hell!!

Why should we then visit a graveyard. Well the answer is simple. Its a art museum in open air.

The one that i recommend you to visit is the Agramonte cemetery near the rotunda of Boavista.

"Under the starry sky....." - The Da Vinci Code and the scene of the graveyard of the Phantom of the Opera could have been filmed here.

This cemetery is also the pantheon of Oporto personalities. You can find here for example the grave of the film director Manoel de Oliveira.

Walk around and you will find an actress, a monument to a fire on a theatre, wine families...Admire the beauty of the statues and forget for a moment that you are in the company of the dead.
